In an interview, the Princess of Wales's younger sibling, 37, said that the three Middletons, including Pippa, 41, always make time for each other during the festive season.
Speaking to The Times, he looked back on previous holidays spent together as a family, telling the outlet the festive period is still as important as ever to the trio.
Despite each of the siblings having grown up and had families of their own, the he insisted that they 'always make sure that we spend time as a wider family so that the cousins get to spend time together, especially around Christmas.'
Though she may be a princess now, Kate maintains a strong connection with her family, including her brother, James, who speaks fondly of her.
Elsewhere in the interview, James reminisced on the three's adventurous outings on past summer vacations, telling the outlet: 'We were like something from The Famous Five.'
'Growing up, we'd also head to the Lake District, staying in rented cottages around Coniston Water and Windermere. It's a very special place for us as a family.
'The Old Man of Coniston is one of my favourite mountains — I first climbed it on my dad's back when I was four years old.'

James added that holidays with the Middletons when he was little 'tended to be packing up the car and driving somewhere'.
His parents - Michael and Carole - would treat the kids to trips to the Swiss Alps in the summer.
James recounted how his father would find a mountain refuge and the family would end up having 'a rather sloppy soup-like meal for tea' - but they were 'so hungry from a day of hiking that it tasted amazing'.
All five would then fall asleep on 'one long bunk', totally 'surrounded by other walkers' and get up early for another day of hiking.
'I can't wait for Inigo to form those sorts of memories,' he said of his son, who turned one in September.
The Princess's brother also fondly recalled listening to storybooks on car journeys when he was a child, particularly tapes of Swallows and Amazons as well as The Famous Five.

Families gathered on Christmas Eve are in for a regal treat when The Princess of Wales' concert, which took place at Westminster Abbey earlier this month, airs this evening.
And Kate offered a taster of what viewers can expect with a video montage posted to the Wales' Instagram account, calling the concert, filled with royal and celebrity faces, 'a heartfelt celebration'.
The short clip sees moments from the service including those who attended admiring Christmas messages on a 'kindness tree' outside the Abbey, the Princess chatting with youngsters before the service and teenage musicians playing instruments as the crowds entered.
The message, posted to the Prince and Princess of Wales' 16.8million followers said the service reflects 'upon the importance of love and empathy'.
It is the fourth time the royal has held the annual festive concert - but this year's is particularly poignant as the 42-year-old royal continues her recovery from cancer; Prince William has described 2024 as 'probably the hardest year of my life'.
