1. 먼저 고장난 디스크를 확인한다.

   root mail 확인 or
  
   /var/adm/messages 확인 or
  
   vxdisk list 로 확인한다.

2. O/S Version 별로 luxadm 패치를 확인한다.

   Solaris 2.5.1 : 105310-08 or higher
                   104708-16 or higher
   Solaris 2.6   : 105375-10 or higher
                   105356-08 or higher
   Solaris 7     : 107473-07 or higher
   Solaris 8     : 109529-06 or higher

2. replace 하려고 하는 disk가 포함된 volume을 unmount한다.

3. 제거하고자하는 디스크를 volume manager에서 확인한다.

   vxdiskadm option 4 (Remove a disk for replacement)

4. 디스크를 offline시킨다.

   vxdiskadm  option 11 (Disable (offline) a disk device)

5. 어레이를 확인

   luxadm probe

   luxadm display 어레이이름
  

6. 디스크 엔트리 제거


   luxadm remove_device 어레이이름,slot번호
   slot 번호 : 전면일경우 f0, f1, f3 ....
               후면일경우 r0, r1, r3 ....

   or

   luxadm remove_device /dev/rdsk/c2t2d0s2  

   luxadm remove_devcie 명령어를 실행하면 디스크를 뺀후 return 키를 누르라는 프롬프트가 나온다.

   이상태에서 디스크를 물리적으로 제거한후 리턴키를 누른다.

7. 새 디스크를 삽입

    luxadm insert_device 어레이이름,slot번호
    slot 번호 : 전면일경우 f0, f1, f3 ....
               후면일경우 r0, r1, r3 ....

    or

    luxadm insert_device /dev/rdsk/c2t2d0s2  

    luxadm insert_devcie 명령어를 실행하면 디스크를 삽입한후 return 키를 누르라는 프롬프트가 나온다.

    이상태에서 디스크를 물리적으로 삽입한후 리턴키를 누른다.

8. format명령어로 확인한후 볼륨메니저에서 새 디스크로 인식할 수있도록 한다.

   vxdctl enable

9. vxdiskadm  option #5 (replace the Volume Manager disk using the newly inserted drive)
